The Pride of America, operated by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), is uniquely positioned as the only major US-flagged cruise ship, and its permanent home port is Honolulu, Hawaii. Specifically, it sails out of the Port of Honolulu on the island of Oahu. Because it is a US-flagged vessel with a mostly American crew, it is not subject to the Passenger Vessel Services Act (which requires foreign-flagged ships to visit a foreign port during their itinerary). This allows the Pride of America to sail round-trip from Honolulu and spend its entire seven-day itinerary visiting four different Hawaiian islands (Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island) without ever leaving Hawaiian waters, making it the most convenient way to see the entire archipelago in a single week.
