Full day park if you want to do everything & savor it. With good crowds, and doing almost everything, Animal Kingdom is like a 85% of your day park. Magic Kingdom is like a day and a half park.
While Disney has found ways to extend the fun into the afternoon and evening hours, most of the animals viewed here are far more active, and therefore visible, in the morning. I strongly recommend you arrive at the park at opening time, or as soon afterwards as possible, to maximize your visit.
Walking around Animal Kingdom can cost you a lot of steps, since all of the attractions are quite spread out, as well as it's almost 2 miles to walk completely around the park. The two most popular places guests head once entering Animal Kingdom are Pandora and Expedition Everest in Asia.
Objectively, the best days to visit Animal Kingdom are weekdays. Across the board, average daily wait times are lower Monday through Friday than they are Saturday or Sunday.
Some Guests feel that Disney's Animal Kingdom park is a half-day park. But you and I know that those naysayers are incorrect! With so much to do and see throughout the park, my family and I always plan to spend an entire day at Disney's Animal Kingdom. It also happens to be our favorite of the four Theme Parks.
Expect it to open at 8 a.m. daily, and possibly earlier during holidays and other times of peak attendance. On-site guests eligible for Early Theme Park Entry should arrive at the entrance 60 minutes before official opening (30 minutes before Early Entry) on all days.
If you are the kind of person who enjoys the park atmosphere between the rides, Animal Kingdom is incredibly immersive. If you're checking off rides and shows and your mind is in other parks you want to get to, Animal Kingdom can be a half day.
Wear Comfortable Clothes and Shoes to Visit Animal KingdomIf you plan on getting wet, bring a change of clothing and shoes and/or wear a bathing suit and a plastic bag to put the wet clothes in when you take them off.
There are currently 42 rides and attractions at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. Note that certain Animal Kingdom rides have a minimum height requirement but the majority of the attractions are appropriate for all ages.
Despite its grand size, Animal Kingdom is home to the fewest rides among the Disney parks, focusing more on enchanting encounters with exotic animals. We'll share the Animal Kingdom rides you can skip and ones you cannot miss!
Disney's Hollywood Studios is the smallest of the four theme parks at somewhere around 1.4 miles. You'll log these miles by walking the park's perimeter down Hollywood Blvd to Sunset Blvd, Animation Courtyard, Pixar Place, Grand Avenue, over to Echo Lake, and back to the entrance.
