What shoes to wear to Disneyland in the rain?

Choosing the right footwear is important for a rainy day at the Disneyland Resort. Unless you don't mind wet and cold feet and socks, pick something that is both comfortable and waterproof. The obvious choice is a good pair of rainboots. Quite often I will wear heavier leather shoes.

Here's the good news: Rain can be your biggest advantage during your visit. Since Disneyland is so embedded into our life here in Southern California, a good amount of guests are typically locals. And, locals often stay home during the rain. So, take advantage of lower lines and less crowds.

There are a few attractions where your shoes could get wet. Notably these are Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom and Kali River Rapids in the Animal Kingdom. Hi Leti! Yes, you can wear flip flops on most all of the rides in Walt Disney World. The only one that I can think of that will made Guest take them off and leave them on the floor is Soarin' (this is so that they do not come off of your feet and hit another guest during your Soarin' flight).

Yes, ponchos are available for purchase if it happens to be raining at Disneyland to keep us dry in case of a little black rain cloud. The child-size ponchos cost $10, while the adult-size ponchos cost $12. So we can stay dry and comfortable no matter what the weather brings.

Epcot is the best because there is only one outdoor attraction in the whole park, Test Track. Other than that, every ride will remain open and running during rainy weather.

The truth is, when it is rainy outside, the parks will be a lot less busy. So if you can handle it, you will often find that you can get a lot done during a storm. But, if you prefer to stay totally out of the rain, there are other things you can do on property that are still a lot of fun.
