Make sure you bring lots of layers and warm jackets as well as swim gear and shorts. Leggings or athletic sporty pants- or beach pants like these. Windbreaker or light jacket- this by Vuori is nice. With that said, I find the beaches to be more scenic in North Lake Tahoe (like Sand Harbor State Beach) and there are plenty of less popular hiking trails nearby that are beautiful for a day hike.
