Terminal 3 is used by the majority of the members of the Oneworld airline alliance: American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Royal Jordanian, and SriLankan Airlines. British Airways, which mainly uses Terminal 5, also offers some flights from this terminal.
Today, British Airways is the only airline that uses Terminal 5. The facility serves as the main hub for the UK flag carrier, although some of its flights depart from Terminal 3 due to capacity constraints.

Historically, Terminal 3 flights have been those with the fewest connecting passengers to minimise the number of people who need to be shuttled to or from Terminal 5.
Check-in closes 60 minutes before long-haul flights depart and 45 minutes before short-haul flights depart. Pass through security at least 35 minutes before your flight departs. Be at the boarding gate at least 20 minutes before your flight departs. See the 'Boarding' section, below.
You'll see signs in the arrivals hall directing you to trains, buses and taxis. When you get to the other airport you'll check in and drop your bags, then pass through security control to reach the departure lounge.
T5's computer system didn't recognise staff IDs. Doors that should have opened were locked, 17 out of the 18 terminal lifts were jammed, the transit system that moves passengers from the main terminal to the satellite terminal broke down, and the carousels, escalators, walkways and electronic screens all failed.
Terminal 5 beat its international counterparts, winning “World's Best Airport Terminal” for the sixth time in its 11 year history, whilst Terminal 2 is close behind as fourth best globally. Overall, Heathrow maintained its position as one of the top 10 airports in the world.

We recommend that you allow the following minimum connection times: 1 hour for connections within the same Heathrow terminal. 1 hour 30 minutes for connections that require travel between terminals at Heathrow.
Walking is only available between terminals 2 and 3 as they are located at the centre of Heathrow airport while the other terminals are significantly farther apart.
