What terminal is American Airlines at DFW?

Terminal A has 26 gates numbered A8 to A11, A13 to A25, A28, A29, and A33 to A39, and is used exclusively by American Airlines. Terminal A is connected to Terminals B and C with airside walkways.

American Airlines is the primary tenant at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and operates out of all five terminals (A, B, C, D, and E). Terminal A, B, and C are almost entirely dedicated to American's domestic and short-haul operations. Terminal D is the main international terminal where American handles its long-haul overseas arrivals and departures, alongside other international partners. In 2026, DFW is undergoing a massive expansion, including the addition of new gates at Terminals A and C and the ongoing development of the brand-new Terminal F, which will further expand American's footprint. A grounded peer tip: DFW is a "mega-hub," and your gate can change at the last minute; always use the Skylink automated people mover to transfer between terminals. Skylink is located "airside" (inside security), runs every two minutes, and can take you from one end of the airport to the other in under 10 minutes, making it a supportive lifesaver for tight connections in this massive facility.
