Several notable incidents have occurred, but one of the most terrifying recent events took place in January 2025 at the Numaish Exhibition in Hyderabad, where an amusement ride malfunctioned due to battery issues, leaving passengers suspended upside down for over 25 minutes. Historically, more famous incidents include the Forest Force ride at a park in China and the Top Scan ride at various traveling fairs, which have both seen mechanical stalls in the inverted position. In July 2023, the Fire in the Hole coaster at Frontier City in Oklahoma also famously stalled, though not completely inverted. These "hang-time" stalls are rare and usually triggered by a safety "e-stop" or sensor trip designed to prevent a collision, though being stuck at the highest point of a loop remains a top fear for many park-goers. Safety protocols generally require a manual reset or a high-angle rescue by fire departments using ladder trucks.
