What time does the first boat leave Wilderness Lodge?

The boats that travel between Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary Resort begin running at 6:45 AM. The boats servicing Magic Kingdom directly, usually make their first pickup about 45 minutes prior to park opening.

In 2026, the first boat from Disney's Wilderness Lodge typically departs at 8:30 AM for a standard 9:00 AM Magic Kingdom opening. Boat service (specifically the "Red Flag" route to Magic Kingdom) officially begins operating 30 minutes prior to the park's opening, which includes Early Theme Park Entry hours for resort guests. If the park has a 7:30 AM early opening, the first boat would launch around 7:00 AM. It is important to note that as of early 2026, Disney has resumed these operations following periodic dock maintenance; however, the frequency remains roughly every 20 minutes. For those heading to the Contemporary or Fort Wilderness via the "Blue Flag" route on Bay Lake, service generally starts later, around 6:45 AM or 7:00 AM, to facilitate character breakfast dining. Always verify the current day's schedule via the My Disney Experience app or the "Transportation" board located near the Wilderness Lodge boat dock, as high winds or lightning can cause immediate suspensions.
