Avelo's fleet is relatively small for the moment, with six Boeing 737 aircraft. With an average age of 14.5 years, this isn't a young fleet, but flying older, well-maintained jets is an easy way to save money and keep fares low for passengers.
Cabin and SeatCurrently, Avelo is flying revamped Boeing 737-800s from Burbank outfitted with a nose-to-tail 189-seat coach class cabin (from HVN, it plans to fly 737-700s). Bathrooms are basic, tight, have a teal and white faux-tile floor, and are located, one each, at the front and rear of the aircraft.
Not all seats are the same, but they do reclineThe first row of the cabin offers nearly unlimited legroom, and the next comparable seats are the exit rows. Seats also recline, which is rare for an ultra-low-cost carrier that offers minimal legroom in some sections.
Federal law doesn't require airlines to pay compensation to passengers for delays, Palmer said. If airlines cancel a flight for any reason, passengers are legally entitled to a full refund, including for ticket price, taxes, baggage fees, extra charges and ancillary fees.
