When can non resort guests buy Lightning Lane?

For individual Lightning Lane purchases, guests of a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels* may make their first purchase starting at 7:00 am on the day of their visit. All other Guests can make their first purchase during normal park opening hours.



In 2026, guests who are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel (or other select partner hotels) can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass 3 days in advance of their park visit. This policy allows day guests and off-site visitors to choose their first three "Multi Pass" experiences and their "Single Pass" arrival windows starting at 7:00 AM ET three days before their ticketed date. This is a shorter planning window compared to Disney Resort guests, who enjoy a 7-day advance booking window for their entire length of stay (up to 14 days). To make the purchase, non-resort guests must have a valid theme park ticket already linked to their My Disney Experience account. For visitors with "Date-Based" tickets, the 3-day window is tied to the start date of their ticket; for those with undated tickets (like Annual Passholders), the window is 3 days before each individual park reservation date.

While you can buy Genie+ just after midnight, you do have to wait until 7 am to start selecting attractions. Anyone can make Genie+ Lightning Lane selections starting at 7 am that day. You don't have to be a Disney Resort hotel guest. You cannot pre-purchase Genie+.

Is Disney Lightning Lane Worth it Conclusion. As a general rule of thumb we do find the Disney World Lightning Lane to be worth it if you can find a way to save 60 minutes per attraction at a cost of under $11.00 per attraction.

If you arrive at a ride early, you can tap into the Lightning Lane five minutes BEFORE your window. You won't even need to talk to a Cast Member to take advantage of these grace periods. Just scan into the Lightning Lane like normal and go! However, if you're later than 15 minutes, you may just be out of luck.

On the Disney Genie+ Service webpage that I linked, it does indicate that on average guests experience about two to three attractions per day with Lightening Lanes using Disney Genie+ Service. However, this is an average, and as long as you stay within the guidelines I mentioned above, you are good to go!
