When can you see dolphins in Lagos Portugal?

Summer is better since there are more dolphins and weather and ocean conditions are better for boat trips. A migrant population of common dolphins comes to the Algarve coast in the summer for reproduction and food from the cold North Atlantic waters.

Look For Splashes The first thing you should do when dolphin spotting is to scan the horizon for splashes. Keep your eyes open, scanning from left to right, then moving back to the right. Look for something new and check for any disturbances in the water.

The walk is easily accessible from Lagos town and leads to several beaches and viewpoints along the way. Hiking along the coastline in Lagos was one of my favourite memories of my two week holiday in Portugal, and I highly recommend taking your own coastal walk when you visit Lagos.
