What we don't allow. Physical intrusions: Hosts, guests, and those affiliated with them or working on their behalf must not access or attempt to access any private spaces without prior permission. In shared stays, this refers to bathrooms when the guest is inside, bedrooms, or beds in shared rooms.
Before you book, a Host will only be shown your first name and identity verification status. Your full name and profile photo will be shared with the Host after your booking is confirmed.
If your reservation request is declined and the listing for the stay shows that it's still available, the host's calendar may not be up-to-date or they may want reservations of a different length or time.
When you book a stay or when you become a Host, we may need to verify your personal information, such as your legal name, address, phone number, and other contact details. We may also ask for a photo of your government ID and a selfie. Additionally, certain Experiences require you to verify your identity.
How strict is Vrbo? Vrbo isn't very strict in terms of enforcing ID verification checks for its guests. They don't complete background checks outside the personal information a guest provides. A host can request a government ID to stay at their vacation rental site but this is completely optional.
If you ever see any smoke-related damage, e-cigarette chargers, ashtrays or cigarette butt residue, or anything similar, then you should immediately take a photo. This photo will help prove to the host platforms that renters were, in fact, smoking inside your short term-rental.
Depending on the nature of the violation, Airbnb may also take other actions, such as canceling an upcoming or active reservation, refunding a guest from a Host's payout, and/or requiring Hosts to provide proof that they have addressed issues before they can resume hosting.
Nearly one in three Airbnbs with cameras record guests while they are inside of the residence. These cameras film guests while they are dining or watching television in the living room, for example. In addition, some Airbnbs contain multiple cameras (36.5%).
Smoking: Guests should not smoke inside a listing unless they are allowed to do so by the Host. This includes the use of tobacco, cannabis, e-cigarettes, etc.

Airbnb may take steps up to and including suspending or removing a guest, Host, or listing from the Airbnb platform if they fail to comply with our policies. Where a listing is advertised as party or event friendly, we may suspend the listing until the violating content is removed.
