When did Terminal C open at MCO?

Since Terminal C opened in September 2022, more than 6.4 million passengers have traveled through the terminal, and more than 48,300 flights have operated there. Terminal C airlines' have an annual economic impact estimated to be more than $5 billion dollars.

Terminal C at Orlando International Airport (MCO) officially opened to the public on September 19, 2022. This massive, multi-year project represented a significant expansion for the airport, adding 15 to 20 new gates capable of accommodating both domestic and international wide-body aircraft. The terminal was designed with a "The Orlando Experience" theme, featuring high-tech digital art installations, massive LED screens, and a bright, airy aesthetic that utilizes natural light. It serves as the primary hub for JetBlue and several international carriers like British Airways, Lufthansa, and Emirates. One of its most innovative features is the "bags-first" international arrivals process and the direct connection to the Brightline higher-speed rail station, which began service to South Florida in 2023. As of 2026, Terminal C continues to be the most modern part of the airport, offering a streamlined experience that contrasts with the older, more crowded Terminals A and B, making it a favorite for travelers heading to Orlando's world-famous theme parks.
