When was the flip flap railway made?

Flip Flap Railway operated at Paul Boyton's Sea Lion Park in Brooklyn, New York, from 1895-1902. It was designed by Lina Beecher and originally built in Toledo, Ohio in 1888. Boyton liked the idea and had the coaster moved to his park near present-day Coney Island.

The original Switchback Railway built at Coney Island in 1884 was designed by Thompson working off of another inventor's patent that was filed in 1878. Beecher built the Flip-Flap, the first coaster to run upside-down through a loop. The cars had to go so fast to make it through the loop, however, that several riders suffered whiplash.
