The most significant transformation of the cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground occurred throughout 2024, with the project fully concluding in the first half of 2025. This was not just a simple interior refresh; it was a total replacement of the old units with new, modern Disney Vacation Club (DVC) cabins. These refurbished cabins feature a much more contemporary "forest chic" aesthetic, moving away from the dark, rustic wood tones of the previous generation. The new units accommodate up to six adults and include a private bedroom, a bathroom, a spacious living area, and a full kitchen. A major highlight of this 2024 refurbishment was the focus on sustainability, with the cabins being built off-site to minimize environmental impact on the campground's natural landscape. While they are now part of the DVC inventory, they remain available for booking by all Disney guests, offering a unique "glamping" experience that blends the nostalgia of the great outdoors with modern luxury and the convenience of being just a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom.
