Traveling by train in Italy means always traveling with carry-on luggage. You'll carry on board everything you have with you. It's your responsibility to bring your bags on board and stow them properly, which is a great incentive to packing light. There's no fee to bring luggage on the train.

On our buses, you can take for free: - 1 handbag (42x30x18 cm). - 1 hold luggage (60x45x25 cm) up to 10 kg. If you need additional luggage, you can integrate your ticket with a “Large Baggage”, (80x50x30 cm, maximum weight of 20 kg) and an “XL Baggage”, smaller than 240 cm (height + width + depth) up to 25 kg.

Hotels generally agree to keep your luggage for a few hours. In exceptional cases, they will accept a longer period of time because they are not necessarily insured in case of a problem. Some hotel do offer that service, but this will need to be checked each case.

If the holding period passes and nobody reaches out to claim the items, it's up to the hotel to decide what to do with them. Some hotels throw away the items, while others allow staff members to keep them if they wish. Additionally, the hotel may donate the items to a local charity.
