Where can you bike on Fire Island?

The Trails Start at the Robert Moses Park Field 5 lot. If you don't have tires equip for sand, ride north towards the main road and then east towards the Fire Island Light House. If you have a bike that can handle loose sand, head south towards the beach. From here, you can ride along the beach the whole way.

They bring their own bicycles because motor vehicles are banned on Mackinac. And even if cars were allowed, many people would bring bikes anyway because Mackinac has more than 70 miles of natural and paved trails around the perimeter and through the interior of the island.

Take a tram tour: If you want to see it all but don't want to hike, the best way to get around Angel Island is on the tram tours that leave from the cafe several times daily. Pick up your tickets inside. On this hour-long tour, you'll visit Camp Reynolds, the Nike Missile Site, Fort McDowell, and Immigration Station.

Fire Island Ferries provide transportation service from Bay Shore to Kismet, Saltaire, Fair Harbor, Atlantique, Dunewood, Ocean Beach, Seaview, and Ocean Bay Park, the seven western towns of Fire Island. It is a 30-minute ferry ride that has been running since 1948.
