Where do you put your stuff on the rides at Disneyland?

With the exception of a couple attractions, every ride at Disney will have a small pouch for you to stow your backpack, or space at your feet.

At Disneyland, handling your belongings is generally quite straightforward as most attractions are designed with storage in mind. For the majority of rides, you can bring your bags—such as backpacks, purses, or camera bags—directly onto the vehicle with you. Most ride vehicles are equipped with mesh storage pouches located in front of your seat or underneath it. If a pouch is not available or your bag is too large, it is standard practice to place your items on the floor at your feet; the ride's centrifugal force and design typically keep them secure even on "thrill" attractions like Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. One notable exception is Silly Symphony Swings, where loose footwear and bags must be left in bins on the loading platform. Additionally, for high-intensity experiences like TRON Lightcycle / Run at Disney World (or similar locker-heavy systems in newer park layouts), double-sided lockers are provided for free within the queue. For those who prefer not to carry items at all, locker rentals are available at the front of the parks near the entrance.

But for the vast majority of Disney World guests, the answer to the “What do I do with my bag on the rides” question is, “Take it with you.” Disney allows guests to bring a bag with them into every attraction in the theme parks, with just one exception (see below).

Loungefly or other Small Bags Loungefly bags and bags of a similar style are the perfect sizes for an entire park day, especially in summer. These bags can fit a rain jacket, small umbrella, wallet, phone, portable charger, and more. This is my go-to bag because it can hold many items and is lightweight.

There are lockers inside both parks as well as outside the Disneyland Park entrance. The prices of locker rentals range from $7-15/day, depending on locker size (prices subject to change.) All in all, I would say a reasonably sized backpack should be fine to take aboard attractions with you. The smaller the better.

Renting a locker at Disneyland is a convenient way to store extra purchases, jackets, coolers for snacks and any other items you don't want to carry in the parks! There are multiple locations inside Disneyland and California Adventure to rent lockers with two sizes offered.

You can bring refillable water bottles and refill them at water stations throughout the parks. You might have also noticed the “no loose ice” rule listed in the other section of this article. An easy fix is to freeze a few water bottles and put them in the bottom of your soft side cooler.

On most rides you can either place the backpack on the ride car floor, behind and between your legs, and you will be just fine. I did this all last week with a string backpack and had no problems.

If it's small enough on many of Disney's rides you don't even need to take your purse off, which is a plus cause you'll never lose it. Or if you're a minimalist, like me, use a fanny pack or bum bag. I'm in love with this colorful Mouse Ear fanny pack. Make sure it's big enough to fit everything you need for the day.

I've worn both. I wear fanny packs/bumbags as sling bags - they will usually have you remove a fanny pack if it's actually around your waist, for a ride (they'll have you remove a backpack as well, or any bag that is between you and a lap bar). It's really not inconvenience though.
