Where is Disney Secret Island?

Discovery Island is an 11.5-acre (4.7 ha) island in Bay Lake, Florida. It is located on the property of Walt Disney World in the city of Bay Lake. Between 1974 and 1999, it was an attraction open to guests, who could observe its many species of animals.

Disney Cruise Line actually has two private island destinations in the Bahamas, often referred to as their "secret islands." The original is Castaway Cay, a 1,000-acre private island located near Great Abaco Island. It is famous for its "shipwreck" theming, turquoise waters, and the fact that the ship docks directly at the island, eliminating the need for tender boats. The newest destination, opened in 2024, is Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, located at the southernmost tip of Eleuthera. While not technically a "secret" anymore, it is celebrated for its celebration of Bahamian culture, pink-sand beaches, and vibrant local art. Both islands are exclusive to Disney Cruise Line guests and offer included BBQ lunches, tram transportation, and "adults-only" Serenity Bay areas. If you are looking for a truly "secret" experience, savvy cruisers book the "Double Dip" itineraries which visit both islands or Castaway Cay twice in one voyage.
