Where is Hagrid buried?

Upon arriving at Hagrid's Hut, the player need only travel behind it to where it overlooks the lake. There, they will find a small gravestone with a Hippogriff statue standing in front.

While the character Rubeus Hagrid lives on in the Wizarding World, the legendary actor who portrayed him, Robbie Coltrane, passed away in October 2022. According to his family's wishes, Robbie Coltrane was cremated, and his ashes were scattered at his favorite locations in New York City. These spots included Washington Square Park, the independent cinema The New York Film Forum, and the iconic Katz's Delicatessen. His son, Spencer McMillan, described him as a "lost Scottish son" of New York, a city Robbie loved deeply for its culture and film history. There is no physical "grave" to visit in the traditional sense, but fans often pay their respects at the Hagrid statues found in Universal Studios theme parks or at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London. The decision to scatter his ashes in New York reflects the actor's vibrant life and his appreciation for the arts and community outside of his native Scotland, ensuring his spirit remains in the places that brought him joy.
