The best time to visit Sicily is from May to June or September to October. Taormina works better if you want to mix some beach time with history and architecture. Catania is my favourite: there are more activities for families to enjoy. It's a big city with plenty of kid-friendly attractions. The only thing that lacks is a good beach.
