Where is the best place to see animals at Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Stay in a room with a view at AKL In some rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge, this is a daily occurrence. This is a view from the lobby at Kidani Village, one of the easiest places to see animals on the Savannah at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The best place to view animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is from one of the public savanna overlooks or a dedicated Savanna View guest room. The resort features four distinct savannas: Sunset, Uzima, Arusha, and Pembe. The Arusha Rock overlook, located directly behind the main lobby of Jambo House, provides an elevated, panoramic view of zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest. For a more intimate experience, the Uzima Savanna near the pool area is excellent for spotting kudu and flamingos. In 2026, guests at Kidani Village can utilize the Library or the outdoor fire pit area, which often brings animals within a few yards of the viewing deck. At night, Disney provides night-vision goggles at specific overlooks, allowing guests to see the nocturnal behaviors of the residents. While having a private balcony is the "gold standard" for constant viewing, the public areas are strategically designed with watering holes and feeding stations to ensure that even day guests can enjoy spectacular wildlife encounters without ever needing a park ticket.
