Heathrow Airport's Terminal 4 is the base of operations for the remaining members of the SkyTeam alliance. These are China Eastern Airlines, ITA Airways, Kenya Airways, Korean Air, Saudia, TAROM and Vietnam Airlines. Terminal 3 is used by the majority of the members of the Oneworldairline alliance: American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Royal Jordanian, and SriLankan Airlines. British Airways, which mainly uses Terminal 5, also offers some flights from this terminal.
Terminal 5, which opened on March 27, 2008, was designed by Rogers, Stirk, Harbour & Partners. It was built at a cost of £4.3 billion. It is exclusively used by British Airways and Iberia and has the capacity to handle more than 30 million customers a year.
The Budget Terminal was opened in March 2006 and closed in September 2012. It was demolished in 2013 to construct the new T4. Terminal 4 will be a two-storey building with a gross floor area of about 195,000m².

In June 2021, Terminal 4 reopened as a terminal for passengers arriving from red list countries only.The rail and underground station remained closed back then. On 23 February 2022, Heathrow CEO John Holland Kaye announced that Heathrow Terminal 4 was to reopen in time for the summer travel peak in July.

You cannot walk from T3 (or T2) to the rest of the airport or the outside world. You have to take a (free) bus from the central bus station to the road outside. You can, if you want, walk from that road outside around the airport to Terminal 4 (enter via the Hilton if you can't walk on the access road to T4).
Heathrow Express trains stop at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 and Heathrow Terminal 5. Passengers travelling to Terminal 4 should change on to the free transfer train at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 (connecting trains every 15 minutes, journey time four minutes).
We recommend that you allow the following minimum connection times: 1 hour for connections within the same Heathrow terminal. 1 hour 30 minutes for connections that require travel between terminals at Heathrow.
