London-Heathrow is one of the busiest and most well-connected airports in the world, easily making it the main London airport. As of July 2023, a whopping 81 airlines operate flights from London-Heathrow to 218 destinations across 86 countries.

London City Airport (LCY) is widely considered the most "convenient" airport for London due to its location just 6 miles from the City of London and the Canary Wharf financial district. It is the only airport located in the city's inner core, allowing travelers to reach the heart of London in under 20 minutes via the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). However, LCY primarily serves short-haul European business routes. For international travelers, Heathrow (LHR) is the next most convenient due to the Elizabeth Line, which provides a fast 30-to-45-minute link to central London, and the Heathrow Express. Gatwick (LGW) is also highly reliable and often praised for being "inoffensively efficient," with the Gatwick Express reaching Victoria Station in 30 minutes. While Stansted and Luton are popular with budget carriers, they are located much further out and are generally considered less convenient for those heading to the West End or the City. Ultimately, "convenience" depends on your final destination: if you're going to East London, City is best; for West London, Heathrow is the clear winner.
