As of 2026, several countries are in the advanced stages of testing, but the Netherlands, India, and Italy are currently leading the race toward operational Hyperloop corridors. The European Hyperloop Centre (EHC) in the Netherlands recently completed a 420-meter test track, positioning the Dutch to be the first to implement a cargo-based system between major ports. In India, the government is collaborating with developers to create a route between Bengaluru and its airport, as well as the long-proposed Mumbai-Pune corridor. In Italy, the "Hyperloop Italia" project is working on a feasibility study for a Venetian route to reduce transit times during the 2026 Winter Olympics. While "full-speed" passenger travel at 1,000 km/h is not expected for commercial use until the late 2030s, these countries are already installing the physical tubes and magnetic levitation infrastructure required for vacuum-sealed transport. Other notable players include Canada (with the TransPod project in Alberta) and Spain, which is hosting several research facilities.
