At Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California, all resort-owned and operated pools are heated to a consistent temperature of approximately 82°F (28°C) year-round. This includes the massive "feature" pools with slides and themes (like Stormalong Bay at the Yacht & Beach Club) as well as the smaller "quiet" pools found throughout the various hotel wings. Disney maintains this temperature to ensure that guests can enjoy a swim even during the cooler winter months when Florida temperatures can drop into the 50s or 60s at night. While 82 degrees is comfortable for most, it can feel a bit brisk when you step out of the water into the cold air, which is why you will often see steam rising from the pools on chilly mornings. Additionally, many of the Deluxe-tier resorts also offer large hot tubs (whirlpools) which are kept at much higher temperatures, usually around 100-104°F, providing a much warmer alternative for those who find the standard pool water a bit too refreshing during a winter cold snap.
