Both Orlando and Hollywood offer guests an engaging Wizarding World experience. However, Universal Orlando logistically has more to provide in the way of themed options for visitors to explore. Thus, travelers with time to spare wanting a comprehensive Harry Potter experience will find it at Universal Orlando.
Either way though, you're going to need 2 days to see both areas of Harry Potter World. However, if you don't have a park hopper, I still recommend waiting for sunset to see each park during the day and at night.

Just make sure to do some research and plan your trip, especially if it's as packed as it was for us!

There are two rides in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood. The Flight of the Hippogriff is Universal Studios Hollywood's first outdoor roller coaster. It is family-friendly, short and appropriate for muggles 39 inches and up. Be sure to take notice of Hagrid's hut and Buckbeak in his nest.
We rate this ride two out of five hippogriffs in terms of fear factor, simply because it is a rollercoaster. However, there's not much to fear here as you soar across the rather tame track.
If you're more interested in large rides like roller coasters, Universal is going to be your best bet. The same is true if you're a big fan of Harry Potter. If you don't mind some of the more family-friendly rides or you have little ones to bring along, Disney may be a better option.
Universal Hollywood is a one day park, while Universal Orlando is a vacation destination with two theme parks, each with a unique Harry Potter themed land, and one water park. If you're looking for more thrilling rides/coasters, Harry Potter, or more rides in general, definitely go to Orlando.
For a longer trip complete with luxury accommodation and visits to multiple parks, Walt Disney World in Orlando might be your best bet. If you live on or near the West Coast and you're looking for a short getaway teeming with nostalgia, Disneyland is the way to go.

Felt like we were definitely in wizarding world. If you want to see all of Harry Potter at Universal, you'll need to buy tickets for both parks (and that's the only way to ride the Hogwarts Express). Makes it very expensive, but we felt it was worth it after having enjoyed it. Absolutely awesome!
