Which is the main station in Verona?

Verona Porta Nuova is the main railway station of Verona, Italy. It is one of the two stations serving central Verona; the other station, Verona Porta Vescovo, is located at the east of the city.

The main railway station in Verona is Verona Porta Nuova. In 2026, it serves as a critical junction for the "High-Speed" (Alta Velocità) rail network in Northern Italy, connecting the east-west line (Milan–Venice) with the north-south line (Brenner–Rome). If you are arriving from a major city like Rome, Milan, or Venice, you will almost certainly disembark here. The station is located about a 15–20 minute walk or a short 5-minute bus ride from the historic center and the famous Verona Arena. It is a "pro-tip" to distinguish it from the smaller Verona Porta Vescovo station, which primarily handles local regional trains and is located further east of the city center. Porta Nuova features a modern "FrecciaLounge" for premium passengers, extensive luggage storage (Deposito Bagagli) for day-trippers, and a large bus terminal right outside the entrance, making it the primary gateway for tourists exploring both the city of Romeo and Juliet and the nearby Lake Garda region.
