As of my last update, no London Underground line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
However, there is a Night Tube service that runs on Friday and Saturday nights only on some lines. This provides an overnight service, but it’s not 24/7.
Here’s a breakdown:
Night Tube (Friday & Saturday nights only)
The following lines have all-night services (typically from around 12:30 am until 5:30 am the next morning):
Central line
Jubilee line
Northern line (except the Mill Hill East and Bank branches)
Piccadilly line (only between Cockfosters and Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3 & 5)
Victoria line
Important Notes:
- No Night Tube on other nights: From Sunday to Thursday nights, the Tube closes around midnight (with last trains starting their journeys earlier).
- Not all stations are open: Even on Night Tube lines, some stations may be closed. Always check the TfL (Transport for London) website or app for real-time service status.
- Other 24-hour options: While the core Tube isn’t 24/7, London has other transport options that run all night:
- Night buses: An extensive network of buses operates 24 hours.
- London Overground: Some routes have a limited Night Overground service on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Elizabeth line: Runs very early and very late, but not 24 hours.
- Taxis & rideshares
