Which train station is best for Sirmione?

In Sirmione there is no train station, you have to get off at Desenzano del Garda or Peschiera del Garda.

Sirmione, the "Pearl of Lake Garda," does not have its own train station because it is located on a narrow peninsula, but it is easily accessible from two nearby stations on the Milan-Venice line: Desenzano del Garda-Sirmione and Peschiera del Garda. Desenzano is widely considered the "best" and most convenient choice because it is slightly closer to Sirmione and offers more frequent bus connections (Line LN026) that take you directly to the town's entrance in about 15–20 minutes. From Peschiera del Garda, you can also take a bus (Line 26) or a ferry to Sirmione, making it a great alternative if your train schedule favors a stop there. Both stations are served by regional trains and high-speed Frecciarossa or Italo services. Once you arrive at either station, you can also opt for a taxi, which takes about 15 minutes and typically costs between €20 and €30. For those arriving from further away, Desenzano remains the most popular jumping-off point for exploring the southern part of the lake.
