Which UK zoo has bears?

Whipsnade Zoo is now home to four European brown bears. Cinderella was joined by Mana, Minion and Naya in April 2023. Sisters Mana and Minion, who are four-years-old, have moved to the UK's largest zoo with one-year-old Naya, from Orsa Predator Park in Sweden.

Several major UK zoos house different species of bears as of 2026. Hertfordshire Zoo (formerly Paradise Wildlife Park) is well-known for its Sun Bears, the smallest bear species. Wildwood Trust in Kent and Wildwood Devon are famous for their European Brown Bears, often rescued from poor conditions abroad. Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire also keeps Brown Bears in a large, naturalistic paddock. For those interested in more exotic species, the Yorkshire Wildlife Park is home to several Polar Bears in their "Project Polar" reserve, which is one of the largest such facilities in the world. Additionally, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) at the Highland Wildlife Park has a strong reputation for its Polar Bear conservation and breeding programs. Always check the zoo's daily schedule before visiting, as bears can be elusive during colder months.
