The Thomson–East Coast Line (TEL) is a medium-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore. Coloured brown on the rail map, it is fully underground.
TE 10 Mount Pleasant MRT stationThe site is currently heavily forested without any immediate surrounding developments. SLA also announced that the Mount Pleasant MRT station will open in tandem with the new developments, i.e. it will remain closed as the rest of the TEL3 opens in 2022.

Why is Marina South closed? Initially slated to open along with the rest of the TEL3 stations, it was announced in November 2021 that the station would only open when its surrounding areas are further developed, even though it has been structurally completed.
Other notable interments include Marcus Lawrence Ward, Governor of New Jersey; Seth Boyden, inventor of patent leather; and Mary Stillman, first wife of Thomas Edison. Mount Pleasant also contains graves of members of the Kinney, Ballantine, and Frelinghuysen families.
