Who invented Metro in India?

Rapid transits in India consist of Metro, Monorails and light rail system. The first rapid transits system in India was Kolkata Metro, which started operations i 1984. 'Elattuvalapil Sreedharan', popularly known as Metro Man was behind this great effort.
