Who is the owner of Loro park Tenerife?

Considered to be the best zoo in the world, Loro Parque is the personal work of the entrepreneur Wolfgang Kiessling who, at the age of 83, is still “at the helm” of the Loro Parque Company as president, together with his son Christoph Kiessling, who is now vice-president.

Loro Parque, located in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, is owned by the Kiessling family. The park was founded in 1972 by German entrepreneur Wolfgang Kiessling, who remains the president and public face of the company. Over the decades, Wolfgang, along with his son Christoph Kiessling (who serves as Vice President), has expanded the business into a major tourism empire in the Canary Islands, which now includes the famous Siam Park water park and the Poema del Mar aquarium in Gran Canaria. Despite being a private family-owned enterprise, the "Loro Parque Company" operates with significant global influence in the fields of animal conservation and zoological research. Wolfgang Kiessling is often credited with transforming the park from a small parrot sanctuary—originally home to only 150 parrots—into one of the most visited and highly rated zoos in the world, holding numerous certifications for animal welfare and sustainability while remaining under the direct management and ownership of the Kiessling family for over 50 years.
