Who owns Grand Hyatt Bangkok?

It is jointly owned by Thai hospitality company The Erawan Group and the government-owned company The Syndicate of Thai Hotels and Tourists Enterprises, which previously operated the Erawan, and is managed by Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.

The Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok is owned by the Erawan Hotel Company, which is a joint venture primarily controlled by The Erawan Group Public Company Limited. In 2026, The Erawan Group (listed as ERW on the Stock Exchange of Thailand) remains the dominant owner with approximately 73.6% of the shares, while the remaining 26.4% is held by The Syndicate of Thai Hotels and Tourists Enterprises, a state-owned entity. While the hotel is managed by the global Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the physical asset and its operations are overseen by these Thai investors. The hotel occupies one of Bangkok's most prestigious corners at the Ratchaprasong Intersection, adjacent to the famous Erawan Shrine. It replaced the original government-owned Erawan Hotel in 1991 and has since become a cornerstone of the Erawan Group’s luxury portfolio, which also includes Hop Inn and Mercure properties across Thailand and the ASEAN region.
