Who qualifies for extra magic hours?

The nighttime benefit is exclusively for guests staying at Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villas (Disney Vacation Club units), and other select hotels (currently only the Swan & Dolphin and Shades of Green). Guests staying at Value or Moderate Resorts are not eligible for Extended Evening Hours.

Early Theme Park Entry is Walt Disney World's newest iteration of what was formerly known as Extra Magic Hours and is available daily. Extended Evening Hours are available on select nights at select theme parks for guests staying at Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select resorts.

In order to access the Extended Evening Hours, guests will need a valid ticket or pass and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day. You will also need to use your MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World to prove which resort you are staying at.

You will need to show your valid resort room key before entering the queue for an attraction, so make sure each person keeps his or her room key handy. If you arrive at a theme park during Extra Magic Hours, you will need to show your room key at the turnstiles.

Can I get a MagicBand if I'm not staying on property? All modern park tickets are wallet-sized RFID-enabled cards that work at the park entrances and Lightning Lane scanners. You do not need a MagicBand to get into the park or to use Lightning Lane.

On most days, you can expect Magic Kingdom to officially open up between 8 and 9 am. On the busiest days of the year (like over the holidays) that opening may even be pushed to 7 am. Early Theme Park Entry for onsite guests typically will begin 30 minutes before the official park opening time.

The Genie 120-minute rule says that you can make a new reservation at most 2 hours from when you made the last one, and this countdown timer doesn't change if you modify the reservation. If you made it at, say, 11 a.m., then your two hours will be up at 1 p.m. even if you modify the reservation at noon.
