Who transfers to British Avios?

You can get Avios by transferring points at a 1:1 ratio from American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards®, Citi ThankYou Points or Capital One Miles. Or you can transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to any of the four Avios programs at a 3:1 ratio.

British Airways Avios is one of the most flexible "loyalty currencies" because it accepts transfers from a vast array of global financial and travel partners. The most common transfer partners include major credit card rewards programs like American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Capital One Venture. In the UK, you can also transfer points from HSBC Premier and Barclays Avios Rewards. Beyond credit cards, you can convert "Nectar" points (from Sainsbury’s) into Avios, and you can even link your Uber and BPme Rewards accounts to earn or transfer points directly. Furthermore, because Avios is a shared currency between IAG-owned airlines, you can move your Avios freely at a 1:1 ratio between British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling, and even Qatar Airways (which joined the Avios ecosystem in 2022). This "interconnectivity" makes Avios an exceptionally easy currency to accumulate through daily spending and cross-airline travel.
