Why did Disney stop Happily Ever After?

While assumed to return after the Walt Disney World 50th Celebration, an announcement was made that the show would be permantely retired. Most speculated that this was due to a high volume of songs from the production getting reused for EPCOT's Harmonious.

Fireworks are seasonal throughout the year and typically are only shown daily during peak seasons due to the proximity of the Disneyland Resort to the neighbors/businesses in Anaheim. During off-peak days, fireworks are Friday through Sunday. For the rest of the week, projections and music are only shown.
