Why do Lyft drivers keep canceling on me?

It's really one of two things: 1) Lyft has found a closer Driver to the pickup location so they cancel you or 2) The rider did not check to see how long it would take a driver to get to the pickup point so they cancel.

No, it is not rude at all. Drivers have to take cues from passengers, and if you're talking about just you as a passenger, I tend to open with just saying hi and asking how they're doing.
