Why do people love Newport Beach?

Newport Beach is one of the most interesting, entertaining, and beautiful places in my opinion. The summer is incredible, with the beautiful beaches and amazing entertainment. I love being able to meet new people who are just visiting for a vacation as well as exploring new stores and restaurants.

People love Newport Beach because it offers a perfect blend of high-end luxury and authentic California surf culture. In 2026, it remains a premier destination for those who want to see massive yacht-lined harbors alongside the historic charm of Balboa Island. The city's "crown jewel" is its 8 miles of pristine coastline, featuring world-famous surf spots like The Wedge, known for its massive, powerful waves that attract the world's best bodysurfers. For families, the Balboa Fun Zone provides a nostalgic boardwalk experience, while shoppers flock to Fashion Island for luxury retail. It is also famous for its "Dock and Dine" culture, where locals pull their electric "Duffy boats" right up to waterfront restaurants. This combination of "old-money" elegance, world-class aquatic sports, and a relaxed Mediterranean-style climate makes Newport Beach one of the most desirable—and expensive—coastal enclaves in the world, serving as the quintessential "O.C." experience for both residents and international tourists alike.
