Why is it called Penn Station Restaurant?

Back in Ohio, he opened his first two sandwich shops with the most obvious of names: Philadelphia Steak & Sub. But after realizing how unoriginal that name was, he cast about for another evocative label and came up with Penn Station. “I knew it was a train station” and not much more, he said.

Penn Station's origins can be traced back to Jeff Osterfeld's first venture in 1983 as owner/operator of Jeffrey's Delicatessen in the Dayton Mall in Dayton, Ohio. It was here that the roots of the ownership mentality began to form for the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Penn Station, Inc.
