Why is Mouse Island in Corfu called that?

“Mouse” island or Pontikonissi in Greek, comes from the Greek words “pontiki” which means mouse and “nissi” which means island. Its name reflects its tiny mouse-like size. Along with Vlaherna Island these two tiny islands serve as Corfu's visual signature.
