Why is the Smiler called the Smiler? The ride is themed around a fictional organization called the Ministry Of Joy which performs experiments on people to ensure that they Smile always, as their tagline goes, with the Smiler being one of it's experiments.

Is the Smiler worth it?
The ride itself is absolutely amazing and half way through my head was actually spinning!! the ride is In 2 halves with a vertical lift to the second part and 14 loops!!! Intense but in a very good way and it certainly does its job. I had a very big smile on my face at the end and so did everybody else.

Vicky Balch, from Lancashire, had her right leg amputated below the knee following seven rounds of surgery. She was injured when the theme park's Smiler ride crashed into an empty carriage in front of it on 2 June.
