The absence of "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" in Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is primarily due to space constraints and licensing timing. USS, located on Resorts World Sentosa, is the smallest Universal theme park in the world, covering only about 49 acres (20 hectares). When the park opened in 2010, the Harry Potter license was still in its infancy at Universal Orlando, and the Singapore park was designed with a heavy focus on DreamWorks (Shrek, Madagascar) and Sci-Fi (Transformers) themes to differentiate itself. Building a Potter land requires immense square footage for the Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade village, which USS simply does not have without removing several existing popular lands. Furthermore, in the Asian market, Universal chose to put its "Potter investment" into Universal Studios Japan (Osaka) and Universal Beijing Resort, which have much larger footprints. In 2026, USS has focused its expansion on the newly opened Minion Land and the upcoming Super Nintendo World, as these properties provide a high "ROI" per square foot compared to the massive infrastructure required for the boy wizard.
