The “Best” Times to Visit Tybee IslandFor the typical visitor who wants to enjoy some outdoor, warm-weather activities and no extreme weather, the “best” time of year to visit is from early April through late May, and from late September to the early part of November.
This beach is huge, parking is $2.00 per hour 2 hour minimum. There can be sand fleas but I did not get a bite, one friend may have. The water was warm like a bath, clean and clear. Bath house could have had toilets washed, but otherwise it was basically a clean beach bathroom.
Tybee's South Beach is the busiest area of the entire island, and includes everything south of 14th Street. Tybee's main beach area is located here, along with the Tybee Pier and Pavilion and some great restaurants and shops.
Tybee Island is a smaller island at only three miles long and one mile wide so you can walk to any destination on the island. However, if you prefer a faster mode of transportation, bicycles, scooters, golf carts and taxis will get you there quicker and with less effort.
Tybee Mid Island BeachIt is usually much less crowded than the south or north ends and is an absolutely stunning expanse of shoreline. There are no public restrooms or designated parking, so it may not be the best to visit with children if you aren't staying nearby.
