Why is Wonder Woman Golden Lasso coaster closed?

Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster temporarily closed in July as part of a multi-phase refurbishment to the five-year-old coaster built by Rocky Mountain Construction. Fiesta Texas Park President Jeffrey Siebert said the first phase, which included work on the ride's station, track and control systems, is now complete.

As of March 2026, the Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas is closed for its "Phase 2 Technical Overhaul." This prototype RMC Raptor (single-rail) coaster has faced significant downtime since late 2023 due to the intense stress the single-rail design places on the track and wheel assemblies. The 2026 closure is part of a planned multi-month project to install new-generation train chassis and reinforced "guide-rail" components that were perfected on later Raptor models like Jersey Devil. While the ride's layout is legendary for its "snappy" transitions, those same forces caused the original 2018 trains to require excessive daily maintenance. Six Flags' 2026 "Thrill Initiative" aims to replace these aging prototype parts to ensure the ride can operate with higher reliability and a smoother guest experience. The park currently estimates a reopening in early summer 2026, just in time for the peak vacation season, once the extensive testing and safety certifications of the new hardware are complete.
