Despite persistent rumors and "viral" social media posts, there is no credible evidence or official plan for Disney to move its Florida operations to Texas. The logistics and cost of such a move would be unfathomable, as Walt Disney World covers roughly 25,000 acres and features hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure, including four theme parks, two water parks, and over 25 resorts. While political tensions in Florida led to speculation about a move, Disney has doubled down on its Sunshine State presence with a commitment to invest $17 billion in the Orlando resort over the next decade. Texas leaders have occasionally expressed interest in hosting a Disney park, but Disney's business model relies on "regional exclusivity" to drive demand. Moving would mean abandoning a century of established tourism infrastructure. While Disney might one day build a different type of experience in Texas, like a "Storyliving" community or a smaller entertainment district, a full relocation is effectively a logistical and financial impossibility.
