Will Disneyland security take my vape?

Please note that while you may be able to bring your vape through security, smoking is prohibited on Disneyland Resort Property. This includes both parks, the Esplanade between the parks, as well as the Downtown Disney District and Hotel. If you need to take a break, you will have to travel off-property to smoke.

Disneyland security will generally not confiscate your vape at the checkpoint, but they will strictly remind you that it cannot be used inside the parks. Since May 1, 2019, Disneyland Resort has maintained a smoke-free and vape-free policy for all areas inside the theme park gates, including California Adventure and the Downtown Disney District. You are permitted to carry the device in your bag through the metal detectors and bag check, but you are not allowed to use it. If a security cast member sees you vaping inside the park, they will ask you to stop immediately and direct you to the designated smoking areas located outside the park entrances. Repeat offenders or guests who refuse to comply may be escorted from the property without a refund. In 2026, these rules also apply to all "e-cigarettes" and "heat-not-burn" tobacco products, as Disney prioritizes a clean, family-friendly environment with minimal exposure to secondhand vapor for children and other guests.
