Jokic’s Triple-Double Leads Denver Nuggets to Series Victory over Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5

The Denver Nuggets secured a hard-fought victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5, winning 112-109 and clinching the series. The Nuggets will now wait for the winner of the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers series in the next round. Despite a valiant effort by the Timberwolves, Nikola Jokic’s back-to-back shots in the fourth quarter ultimately gave the Nuggets a five-point cushion, which they held onto for the rest of the game.

Jokic finished with an impressive triple-double of 28 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists, along with two steals and two blocks on the defensive end. Jamal Murray also had a standout performance, scoring 35 points and making five of his nine three-point attempts, while also going six-for-six from the free-throw line.

Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards led his team with 29 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, but missed all six of his three-point attempts. Rudy Gobert also fouled out for the Timberwolves, finishing with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

The Timberwolves fought until the very end, with Mike Conley and Edwards both hitting three-pointers in the final seconds to keep the game close. However, Edwards’ shot to tie the game and force overtime missed, allowing the Nuggets to celebrate their victory.

This win puts the Nuggets one step closer to the Finals, while the Timberwolves will have to regroup and plan for next season.
