Samsung XR Headset Faces Delay Due to Apple Vision Pro, Reports Suggest

Samsung's highly anticipated Extended Reality (XR) headset, originally slated for a February 2024 release, is experiencing a delay of 3-6 months, according to reports from SBS Biz.

The Korean publication states that Samsung had initially planned to commence mass production of its XR headset at the beginning of the upcoming year. However, the Korean conglomerate made the decision to reassess the specifications and design of the XR headset in light of the Apple Vision Pro, resulting in a postponed launch.

While Samsung takes the opportunity to reconsider the specifications and design of its XR headset, Apple is also facing challenges with the production of the Vision Pro. The Vision Pro reportedly encounters production issues, leading Apple to revise its target of selling 1 million units within the first month of availability.

Furthermore, Apple is said to be planning a gradual rollout strategy for the Vision Pro, with the headset being made available for purchase through appointments only.
